Excerpt 2: The Only Alternative to Fretfulness

  1. Can you describe the times in your life when you think your faith grew significantly? What was unique about those times in your life?
  2. Do you agree that when troubles arise in life, we find ourselves learning more about trusting God and living by faith? Explain.
  3. Can you find examples in the Bible where God orchestrated a difficult season in someone’s life so that they would learn about how to trust God more? (e.g. Gideon, Moses)
  4. Why should a Christian worldview and the gospel truly dispel worry and anxiety in the life of a believer?
  5. Ask God to not only forgive you of fretting but also to help you trust Him more.  Thank Him for the trials in your life. Stop comparing your life to others, especially evildoers, and draw closer to Christ.
