Excerpt 1: Why Jews Do Not Believe in Jesus

  1. Review Genesis 3:15. Notice that the first gospel sermon ever preached was by God himself to the first two humans. Adam and Eve put their faith in Jesus. Technically this made them the first two members of God’s church. Notice that Adam and Eve were saved by grace through faith.
  2. What are reasons that you gave in the past or heard others give for not believing in Jesus.

Excerpt 2: Why Jews Do Not Believe in Jesus – Part 2

  1. Review the following Messianic prophecies: Isaiah 2:1-4, 11:1-9; 32:15-18; 53; 60:15-18; Zephaniah 3:9; Hosea 2:20-22; 3:4-5; Amos 9:13-15; Micah 4:1-4; Zechariah 8:23, 14:9; Jeremiah 23:5-6; 30:7-10; 31:33-34; 33:14-16; Ezekiel 34:11-31; 37:21-28
  2. Review the rabbi’s article and take notice of all the arguments that the rabbi makes agains Jesus: http://www.aish.com/jw/s/48892792.html
  3. Jews claim that Christians misapply the Scriptures to JEsus. For example, Christianity claims that Isaiah chapter 53 refers to Jesus as the “suffering servant.” According to Judaism, the nation of Israel is the suffering servant of God. In what ways have other people in history turned patriotism into a religion?
  4. List the many ways that false theology keeps people from trusting in Jesus.

Excerpt 3: Jesus is the Messiah

  1. Matthew was a Jew evangelizing Jews. Do you practice evangelism? What are people around you asking about God? Do you have the answers? Can you defend your faith?
  2. Why is it necessary that our Savior was both 100% God and 100% Main?
  3. List the many ways that the world has become more peaceful since the coming of Jesus. Consider topics such as human rights, civil government, education and medical advances, poverty, etc.
  4. What will the world look like when the Great Commission of Matthew 28:18-20 is completely fulfilled by Jesus through His church?

Excerpt 4: When the religious and irreligious unite to reject Jesus Christ

  1. Review the many prophecies in the Old Testament that foretold of the crucifixion of Jesus (e.g., Genesis 3:16; Psalm 41:9; Zechariah 11:12; Isaiah 50:6; 52:14,53; Daniel 9:26). Find where in the New Testament these prophecies were fulfilled.
  2. Skeptics often demand certain things from God before they will believe. Do you have any personal reasons that keep you from trusting God?
  3. How does the fact that Jesus loves the religious and irreligious impact your prayer life?
